Be wary of any items on the side that are fried, like onion rings and French fries. If you wish for something to accompany your entrée, look for side salads and cups of fresh fruit. One other option could be to bring along your own vegetables and fruits from home.
Matters will become worse when you add to your main fast food items, some drinks that are loaded with calories like milk shakes, sweet tea, soda, fruit drinks and lemonade. The worst are shakes full of fat. Go in for a no-calorie beverage (un-sweetened tea, diet soda or plain water) or one which is nutritious (100% juice of orange or milk that is low fat).
